TurboDUO

NEC made a game console? Why yes they did, and that console was (in North America) the Turbo GraFX 16. I did not own a Turbo GraFX 16 in it's heyday, but have fond memories of playing Blazing Lazers at the Brother-in-laws place. This very capable system was much more popular in it's native Japan, where it was released as the PC Engine. The system uses distinctive HuCards, also known as TurboChips that look like thick credit cards. The system has many fun games, and is quite hard to find games for in North America. There are multiple permutations of the CD expansion, with various and sundry system cards, making CD game compatibility an adventure in collecting, to say the least. The all in one TurboDUO (PCE Duo in Japan), alleviates some of these problems, but suffers from long term reliability sound issues (that OSG can remedy). Challenging, and rewarding to collect for, and a nifty system to own and play. 'Must own's' include Blazing Lazers, R-Type, Bonk, and Ninja Spirits. Johnny Turbo, we hardly knew ye...

OSG can often repair Turbo GraFX 16's, TurboExpress' and TurboDUO's suffering from many different failures, from the common disc read issues, to mechanical failures, audio issues on and more. Estimates are free and no obligation. Repairs are always much more reliable than replacing with another used unit. If the estimate is approved, and repairs are performed, repairs come with a 90 day warranty. We are so confident in the quality of the TG16's, and TurboDuo repair work OSG can perform, that we're willing to give a warranty that is second to none.

We can also upgrade the system with switched region mod, allowing the use of Japanese HuCards on a North American system, and vice versa.

OSG does not offer free evaluation service for TG16CD, PCECD,  or SuperGraFX systems. See our "orphaned systems" tab for more information.

OSG can bring it's experience with the DUO and thousands of other repaired game consoles to your game console. OSG tracks all systems in a sophisticated database, that gives us a framework for tracking reliability and repair history that is second to none. E-mail us for more information or drop off your console at one of our Depots. See the Depots link above for locations.
